We are accustomed to thinking that if everyone in the world eats something, it is not anything dangerous. However, there are a lot of foods that are dangerous to our health and we consume far more than we should or in a manner that is inappropriate for our body.
The most common dangerous foods on the planet
1 – Cashews
Never eat cashews raw because they contain a chemical that can be fatal in large amounts. Make sure that they are always cooked.
2 – Hákarl
It is a traditional dish in Iceland. Consists of drying a Greenland shark for six months before it is eaten. This type of shark has no urinary tract so that it filters all the toxins through its skin, so it should not be eaten raw.
3 – Casu Marzu

4 – Pufferfish
It is more common than we think in Japan, and few are aware of how dangerous it is. This fish contains tetrodotoxin, a neurotoxin that can paralyze and cause suffocation to human.
There are laws in Japan governing how you should prepare this fish and the chefs who do so must have been taking lessons for up to three years before they do it in a restaurant.
5 – Sannakji
This Korean dish consists of a baby octopus that is cut into small pieces while still alive and served immediately to the dish. When you eat them, if not chewed well, may cause the legs to adhere to the inside of your throat and choke you.
6 – Tegillarca granosa
This type of clam are from China and live in areas in which there is little oxygen so that they ingest more viruses and bacteria than the rest. Some of them have hepatitis A and E.
7 – Giant Bull Frog
It is consumed in Namibia, mainly when there are festivities. Can only be ingested several times a year and if the frog is mature enough because young ones contain a toxin that causes kidney failure.
8 – Nemopilema nomurai
It is a type of poisonous jellyfish, so you have to be very careful when cooking it. You have to remove all the poisonous parts of the body and cook it very well, nothing raw.
9 – Ackee
The national fruit of Jamaica is really dangerous if it has not matured enough. Its black seeds are toxic and poisonous, which can cause vomiting and health problems.
10 – Fesikh
This traditional Egyptian dish consists of fermented fish that is made after drying the fish in the sun before you cover it in salt for a year.
11 – Cassava
It is very common in Africa and South America, and you have to be very careful and not to eat it raw to avoid fatal consequences.
12 – Brains of monkeys
They are eaten mainly in Asia. Can be eaten raw, boiled or fried. Their regular consumption can lead to suffering from a degenerative neuronal disease called Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
13 – Durio
This fragrant fruit is very popular in Asia, but its seeds are packed with substances that are toxic if not cooked.
14 – Hotdogs
Although it may seem quite innocent, hot dogs are responsible for 17% of choking deaths that occur in children in the United States.
15 – Carambola
This fruit is really bad for the kidneys and those who have liver problems because it contains poisonous substances and neurotoxins that affect the nerves and the brain.
