For mixing, it is ideal to use the chasen, a sort of bamboo whisk. So you will only have to stir it vigorously for 30 seconds to obtain a mixture of foam on the top. The tea resulting from this mixture is referred to as Usucha.

If you don’t have a chasen at home, you can buy yours through Amazon for about 7€. What is important is that you do not use any instrument of metal, as that alters the flavor and aroma of this tea.
