Knowing how to dress is key to optically match and shape our body as we like it. Let us not deceive ourselves, it is something that worries us the most. Who doesn’t like to look good in their clothes? Either disguise a few extra pounds, elongate the figure or to enhance certain areas; fashion can do a lot for us.
How do you wear patterns for your figure?
Horizontal or vertical stripes, which do you favor more?
The first thing that you have probably been told is that you should always avoid if you want to conceal a few extra pounds, horizontal stripes, and the wider the worse.
The same thing happens with the color, the more clear are the stripes with respect to the fund, the more fat you make it seem. However, it seems that the vertical stripes cause the opposite effect, make you look more slim.
But not everyone agrees with this. Dr. Peter Thompson, a psychologist, and expert in perception at the University of York, U.K, showed that unlike what we have always thought, it is horizontal and not the vertical lines that make us look thinner.
The explanation is based on two optical illusions, which affect the way in which we perceive distances when the lines are horizontal or vertical.
Even so, the majority of people still have their doubts about this theory.
Who would feel good about the pictures?
Prints, in general, tend to make people look fatter. They are usually not the best option if you want to conceal extra pounds. In case you want to wear them, the best thing is to try small pieces.
In general, thin people tend to feel good in prints, because they visually accentuate the figure. However, in the case of wanting to wear them and to conceal extra pounds, the ideal is that they are small. If you opt for stripes, it is best that you choose fine stripes and that its color does not deviate too much from the background.
