We all have the belief that you can’t get pregnant if you are already expecting a child. However, the case of Jessica Allen proves the contrary. This 31-year-old gave birth to two children that were not conceived at the same time and had different fathers.
Gave birth to two babies by different fathers at the same time
The story begins when Jessica agreed to be a surrogate for a Chinese couple for $30,000 because in California, yes it is legal. For this she underwent in vitro fertilization in April of the year 2016.
The Doctor gave her the confusing news that she was pregnant with twins in her sixth week of pregnancy. The cost for her surrogacy increased to by $5,000 since both doctors and parents assumed that she had been pregnant with twins.
But in December she gave birth to two children by cesarean section. One baby had lighter skin than the other, and they seemed to be of different ages, and furthermore, one was Asian.
Before this event, they decided to submit to a DNA test, in which it was discovered that actually one of the babies was for the Chinese couple, while the other was the biological son of Jessica with her husband.
The incident is known as ‘superfetation’, and it is quite strange. In most of the cases, pregnant women, stop producing eggs, so you do not become pregnant. But Jessica continued ovulating so that she became pregnant.
After fighting for custody of her biological son, who was with the couple in China, they have managed to take the child home, but not before passing through a tough legal battle.
