Everyone wants to know what foods are good and bad for their body and if they are taking a correct and appropriate diet. However, the whole world is wrong, even scientists.
That’s why, we sometimes grind, and classify as poor those foods that had been bad for our health. We want to clarify the topic a bit so that you have all the information possible and can make the best possible decisions.
7 Foods wrongly accused of being bad for us
1 – Eggs
They told us that we should limit consumption of eggs because of the cholesterol and its ability to clog arteries. However, it has been shown that there are two kinds of cholesterol and eggs have the good. In addition, they contain a lot of iron, protein, and antioxidants, protecting you from macular degeneration and cataracts.
2 – Whole Milk
For many years, we have been told that we must opt for skimmed milk to consume fewer fats. However, a recent study says that fats and whole milk provide a lot of nutrients and increase the resistance of the blood to certain types of cancer.
3 – White Rice
Although you have heard it said many times that you have to avoid white rice, you should not fear because it has many benefits. It is digested very easily, does not contain gluten, contains less arsenic than brown rice and helps to prevent chronic digestion problems.
4 – Salt
On many occasions, it has been said that salt was really bad because it could raise blood pressure and trigger heart and kidney problems. However, studies show that an increase in salt intake is not associated with hypertension: the other way around. When we stop consuming sodium, our bodies release hormones and enzymes that increase blood pressure. What we should do is always consume it in moderation.
5 – Popcorn
This was considered junk food, but what is certain is that it has more antioxidants than fruits and vegetables, reducing the risk of heart disease and cancers. In addition, it has very few calories and is a whole grain. Make sure to make it at home to be as natural as possible.
6 – Coffee
They accused caffeine to causing hypertension, damage to the nervous system and heart problems. However, drinking coffee actually leads to lower rates of premature death and heart disease. In addition, it decreases the risk of cirrhosis of the liver, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and type 2 diabetes.
