It has been reported that the famous DJ Avicii committed suicide, his family hinted as much in a statement last week. According to new sources, the DJ, whose real name was Tim Bergling, was cut using broken glass from a bottle.
The sharp glass had caused the DJ fatal bleeding, TMZ reported, that the details of the wounds are confusing. A source says that the wound was in the neck, another says that he cut his wrists. Shortly after the death the 28 years old DJ, his family has suggested that Avicii might have committed suicide.
The family shared an emotional statement with his fans, revealing that the musician was struggling to find meaning in life.
“Our beloved Tim was a browser, an artistic and fragile soul, looking for answers to the existential questions. An outstanding prfectionist who traveled and worked hard at a pace that led him to extreme stress. When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most – the music” says the press release.
“He really struggled with thoughts about the Meaning of life and Happiness. He could not take it anymore. He wanted to find peace. Tim was not done to this machinery of business in which he found himself, He was a little sensitive and he loved his fans but he avoided being the center of attention. Tim, you will always be loved and sadly missed. The person that you were and your music will keep your memory alive.”
Avicii was found dead on April 20. His publicist confirmed the sad news in a statement. The unexpected death of the Swedish DJ came a few days after he was nominated for the Billboard Music Awards in the category Album Top Dance/Electronic for his album, AVĨCI (01). He was nominated along with his peers, The Chainsmokers, Calvin Harris and Kygo.
In 2016, the man behind “Wake Me Up” and “Hey Brother” revealed that he suffered from acute pancreatitis due to alcohol abuse. He removed his appendix and the gallbladder in 2014 and therefore canceled several shows.
“It has been a very crazy journey. I started producing when I was 16 years old. I started touring at 18. Since that point, it just jumped to 100 percent.”
Avicii previously told Billboard:
“When I look back on my life, I think, Whoa, I did that? It was the best time of my life in a certain way. It came with a price – a lot of stress and a lot of anxiety for me – but this has been the best trip of my life.”
According to WTOP, Avicii, promised his fans last year to continue to create music great:
“The next was to be about my love for making music for you. This is the beginning of something new.”
