Brad Pitt joins Leo DiCaprio for the Tarantino movie about Charles Manson, called “once Upon a Time in Hollywood”.
The crime film of Quentin Tarantino, based on actual events, that took place in Los Angeles in 1969 at the summit of the Hollywood hippy, DiCaprio plays the role of Rick Dalton, the former star of television series of jeans, while Pitt is the double of Dalton.
“Both are struggling to succeed in a Hollywood that no longer recognizes them” said Tarantino to Variety this Wednesday, February 28.
“But Rick has a famous neighbor… Sharon Tate.”
Sharon Tate, an actress, married to Director Roman Polanski, was pregnant at 8 months when she was killed at the age of 26 years old in 1969. She was among the five people who were brutally murdered by members of the cult of the Manson Family, in the house of the actress.
The director of Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction revealed that he has been working on the script for five years and has lived in Los Angeles for nearly his entire life, including in 1969.
“I am very excited to tell this story of a l.To., and a Hollywood that no longer exists,” said Tarantino to the publication.
“And I could not be more excited about the dynamics of DiCaprio and Pitt and Rick and Cliff.”
Once upon a Time in Hollywood is the ninth film of Quentin Tarantino, and is expected to premiere on August 9, 2019 – the anniversary of the death of Sharon Tate.
Deadline reported that the director asked Magot Robbie who did the role of Tate.
Tarantino worked with Brad Pitt on Inglourious Basterds, which was nominated for nine Oscars. DiCaprio worked on Django Unchained in 2012, a film that received two nominations for the academy awards.
