Tyra Patterson, an american woman from Ohio, has been freed from the Northeast Pre-Release Center in Cleveland, on Christmas day, after spend in prison 23 years for being an accomplice to the murder of a teenager.

The woman, now 42 years old, who has always maintained his innocence, was convicted by a robbery and murder of Michelle Lai, 15 years. Despite not being the one that shot the girl, the Ohio law requires accomplices to receive the same punishment as the murderers.
Tyra has always maintained that the police forced her to confess to the theft that she says never made, which ended in a conviction for aggravated murder.
